After a variety of flights from the USA the group rendezvoused in Milan this morning & were greeted by their tour leader Declan.
Despite one flight's late arrival we were still able to transfer into the city & enjoy a wonderful but fast group lunch before our first sightseeing - a guided visit to the refectory of the Dominican Convent of Santa Maria della Grazie, home to Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece, The Last Supper. During our semi-private viewing our expert local guided Giacomo introduced us to the masterpiece, it's history, techniques, & even controversies.
Later we checked-in to our hotel, the Hotel Tocq in the fashionable Corso Como neighborhood, for a two night stay before gathering for an early group dinner. A great end to a successful first day.
Tomorrow we'll be meeting Giacomo again & taking a morning walking tour of the city, including its other top sights.
