We said goodbye to Vienna this morning & traveled north, leaving Austria & crossing into the Czech Republic as we head towards the magical city of Prague.
Along the way we traveled through the Czech region of Bohemia, but sadly our journey was delayed several times by extensive roadworks.
Due to delays we weren't able to visit Ceský Sternberk fortress, & instead broke our journey with a lunchtime visit to Konopiste castle, a 12th century fortress that was purchased & updated by Archduke Franz Ferdinand - prior to his assassination in Sarajevo, the event that precipitated World War 1!
After our late afternoon arrival in Prague we checked-in for a three night stay & then rode the metro across the Vltava River to Villa Richter, an excellent restaurant overlooking the city.
